In May 2011 we set off on a trip to pedal around South America, planning to start and finish in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The route takes us through every country in South America and will cover approximately 15,000 miles.
The map below shows our progress so far in blue, and in red, the places where we are still to visit.

We estimate that we will reach the following cities around the times outlined below.
- Caracas, Venezuela – Late February
- Georgetown, Guyana – Late March
- Paramaribo, Suriname – Early April
- Cayenne, French Guyana – Mid April
- Macapa/Belem, Brazil – Early May
- Recife, Brazil – Mid June
- Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – Late July
The timings will most likely change, but these are the dates we are aiming for. If you would like to join us for a leg on the bike or perhaps during a break in one of the cities please let us know!
