As we say farewell to the Andes after several months we look back with a short video at some of our favourite moments.
Laura and Paddy's adventures by bike
I totally underestimated the difficulties of cycling at altitude, thinking that rising slowly on our bikes we would acclimatise easily. As beautiful as it is high up in Peru, I can’t wait to get back down to sea level and oxygen.
Cycling along the shiny, white surface of the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia was one the highlights of our trip so far, but we had a lot of pushing on either side for the honour.
It took us four and a half days to cover 200km to the Bolivian border. We were slowed by the supplies we were carrying, the poor roads, the effects of climbing to 13,500ft and Paddy’s desire for an adventure.
